  1. Badan aki dibiarkan kotor berdebu. Memang tak ada salahnya, hanya mengganggu penampilan. Tapi karena kotor, kita jadi sulit melihat kondisi air aki dari luar. Jangan-jangan sudah berada di bawah lower level tapi tak terpantau.

Bisa terjadi karena voltage regulator, atau lebih tenar dengan sebutan IC Regulator dalam alternator sudah rusak. Sehingga tetap memasok arus listrik ke aki walau di aki sudah penuh. Efek ini kadang dibarengi badan aki menggelembung.
  4. Mesin tak mau start setelah didiamkan selama paling tidak 2 hari. Ini akibat kelalaian pemilik mobil malas melihat ketinggian air aki. Atau bisa juga berat jenis air aki sudah berkurang akibat self discharge.
  5. Sulit start di pagi hari. Biasanya karena pemilik mobil hobi memasang perangkat aksesori yang berkaitan dengan listrik. Bisa head unit, power amplifier, speaker seabrek-abrek, sampai meningkatkan daya lampu jauh di atas normal tanpa meningkatkan kapasitas altenator dan aki.
  6. Badan aki memiliki suhu sangat panas. Coba tengok sekitar ruang mesin. Apakah mesin mobil sudah di modifikasi ekstrem? Modifikasi ekstrem dan dipakai harian akan meningkatkan suhu ruang mesin.
  7. Tiba-tiba tidak bisa start. Kejadian paling menyebalkan. Coba cek kepala aki. Biasanya hanya kendor atau kotor. Longgarkan baut ikatannya, lalu kencangkan kembali sampai kepala kabel tak bisa bergerak lagi.
  8. Tidak bisa start. Ingat-ingat kapan terakhir beli aki. Biasanya kalau lewat dari 1,5 tahun, memang sudah waktunya ganti.  Paling enak, ketika beli aki baru, tulis tanggal pembelian di badan aki pakai spidol yang tak bisa dihapus.
  9. Cairan aki kurang baik.Begitu banyak air aki botol biru yang beredar. Mulai hypermarket, SPBU sampai bengkel kecil biasanya ada. Biar aman, beli di SPBU, bengkel besar atau toko yang menjual aki.
  10. Jangan menguras cairan elektrolit atau accu zuur jika aki sudah mulai lemah. Cukup setrum ulang saja, aki greng lagi.
